I am a geospatial product engineer and technical writer. Since I moved to California in 2003, I have developed documentation for a computer mapping and geographic information systems software company. Prior to that, I was a cartographic technician at Yellowstone National Park, served as a GIS associate program director, and worked in advertising for a broadcasting group. I was also a fitness instructor at UC Santa Barbara.

I have an airplane private pilot certificate  and enjoy sightseeing, taking aerial photographs, and writing trip reports. Most of my hours are in a Cessna 172, although other models I have flown include a Piper Warrior, Cessna 152, a high-performance Cessna 182, a Symphony 160, and an aerobatic Super Decathlon. I am a member of the Santa Barbara Chapter of the Ninety-Nines, the International Organization of Women Pilots.

I also enjoy visiting national parks, studying geysers and hydrothermal systems, practicing yoga, cooking, and tending my flower garden.

I have a master of science in geoscience from Western Kentucky University and a bachelorʼs degree in political science.
